LOCAL NONPROFIT IN THE HEART OF THE FORT WORTH STOCKYARDS NATIONAL HISTORIC DISTRICT HIRES NEW MUSEUM DIRECTOR

The leaders of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame prepare to maximize their prime location in the Stockyards Heritage Redevelopment and share the story of the Texas Cowboy with the world.

 

FORT WORTH, TX- Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of

Andrea Ruby as Museum Director for the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame (TCHOF). The mission of the TCHOF is to honor those individuals who have shown excellence in competition, business, and support of rodeo and the western lifestyle in Texas. The ways of the cowboy are an extension of the hard-working ranching cowboy’s competitive nature and pioneering spirit. It is a story of courage, grit, and perseverance. It’s a story of courage, grit, and perseverance. It's a story of western heritage, diversity, and tradition that has captured the imagination of millions of people around the world.

 

The TCHOF Search Committee was tasked with recruiting a candidate that was educated about Western culture and lifestyle and compelled to share the TCHOF story and collection with the world. The Search Committee successfully met their mission with the hiring of Andrea Ruby, a life-long Tarrant County resident. She was born into the Western lifestyle, and for her, it’s home, heart, and spirit. As the granddaughter of Bob Wills, the “King of Western Swing,” Andrea naturally developed an enduring love for preserving Western music, lifestyle, and culture.

 

After spending her early career in marketing and nearly 14 years as a successful retail business owner, Andrea is motivated to bring her passion, experience, and insights to the Fort Worth Stockyards. She says, “As the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame’s proud past now readies to meet a new vision, I am beyond excited for this opportunity. I am eager to engage old and new supporters to invest in the process and excited to dive into this journey as we focus on making visitor experiences even more engaging, educational, and entertaining.”
